Hello craig just a note to say it was a great day yesterday and a brilliant turn out. Hope u recieved all the ballons with our notes lol just over a year ago now we were all on top of the world and this changed everything. Cant believe your gone craig but ur memory lives on in us, u touched our hearts with your amazing sense of humour , your charm and good looks lol. There will never be any1 who can fill your place you were a great friend and your are missed badly. It didnt quite fell right yesterday felt like you should of been there with us avin a few beers n laughing. Well Craig a year ago i  was so happy with my life and then this happened and i will never be as happy again as i was before 3rd december 2005. We have moved on a year now but i will never move on 100% ever again and every night i go to your garden and light your candles we have four on your garden which i light every night one is for me n al one for your granny n keith n one for sean the other is for the rest of your family and friends well i found a poem that i felt.
 i need to put on here for you here it is:-

FOUR CANDLES

The first candle represents our grief.
The pain of losing you is intense
It reminds us of the depth of our love for you.

The second candle represents our courage.
To confront  our sorrow,
To comfort each other,
To change our lives.

The third candle we light in your memory.
For the times we laughed,
The times we cried,
The times we were angry with each other,
The silly things you did,
The caring and joy you gave us.

The fourth candle we light for our love.
We light this candle so that your light will always shine
As we enter this sad time and share this day of rememberence

Well hello Craig its mum (again), just to let you no whats goin on although i think you no anyway but , Sean is now at Preston even though its better for him cos he is near home he still misses you like mad (you see you n sean were like siamese twins good brothers n best friends) so it is really hard for him,  he is sufferin but he will get there we are all sufferin but at least we have each other to help us along but if you can please give him a nudge to help him along do. 

The army told me you wouldnt be forgotton n Craig they have stuck to there word you got the beautiful write up in there magazine that i have copied on to your site.  Carl is still in limbo with the army he misses you too he wants to join the police when he gets officially discharged Lets hope it works out for him (help im out if you can).

Your Gran n Keith are in Teneriefe (jet setters) a good deserved rest for them both they need it.

Me n Al well we are ploddin on as we do missin you every day talkin about you every night just missin you.

All the rest of your family do miss you, but we all talk about you as though you are still here, thats cos we all wish you were.

I came to this page by chance and I'm so sorry for all of you. My little brother Michael died last August at the age of 15 and I still cry every night. To know that you can't change anything is so hard to accept. You keep thinking "there was his whole liefe in font of him" and, most of all, "why?!". 
I myself doubted if there can be a God...it's so unfair that he takes away the lives of young people and elderly people want to die but can't. 
I know that nothing can make him come back but I just can't accept the fact thet he's dead. It's so sad...

A Tribute Paid to Craig in the Army Magazine Lancashire Lad by Major Reeves  / Lancashire Lad

It seems like an age since I last compiled my thoughts on the activities of the Company, But with the postponement of the May 'Lancashire Lad' it as been ten months since the last set of notes.  It will therefore be of no suprise to the reader that an awful lot as taken place in the past months.  The Company as been through a huge period of change, change of post, change of personnel and a change of role. Some of the events over the period have been nothing short of excellent, others not so, and it is with much sadness that chronology of Company events since December 2005 begins with the loss of Private Craig Warren in Cyprus.

Private Craig Warren was a well known and liked character both within the Company and across the Battalion at large. He had a strong, positive outlook on life in general and his service in particular.  Fit, keen and fun he volunteered for any and every opportunity to make the most of the good stuff on offer, especially in Cyprus. Craig was about to move to 1 Kings (2 lancs) as part of the first group of 'minglers' and it was on his last night in Cyprus that he was tragically killed. Saturday the 3rd of December. The Company were in the final stages of handing over to the RRF and were the last Company group on the island, with the remainder of the Battalion already in Germany. The Company therefore undertook complete responsibility for dealing with the necessary procedures required after such a tragedy. Craigs Mother and Grandmother had to be flown to Cyprus to assist the Cyprus police, and this proved one of the hardest periods for the Company, but to a man, all ranks and individuals were simply exceptional in their ability to host and care for Craigs family under the most difficult circumstances. The Company still had to move to Germany leaving Craig on the island, but in the knowledge that we would get to say a fitting and final farewell to him in the UK.

The Company flew to Germany on Thursday the 15th of December and very quickly had to organise the Company lines in Germany whilst preparing for an early return from Christmas leave to rehearse the bearer party and Guard of honour for Pte Warren. It was another tribute to the Company as a whole and the lads in particular that we found time to sort it all out. Along with the remainder of the Battallion we departed for leave on 16th December and the bearer party formed up for the rehearsals and a chance to say their own private farewells to craig on 17th December in Colne. Under the guidance of WOII Urey, they drilled until it was perfect. The Guard of honour and firing party under the direction of Sgt Altree rehearsed continually, ensuring every last detail was right. On tuesday the 20th December Pte Craig Warren was finally laid to rest with full military honours at the Nelson Cemetry. The members of the Company who took part in any small way on that day can feel proud in the fact that they stood fast in the cold, wet rain and gave Craig the final honours he deserved. Since that day a number of members of the Company have remained in touch with Craig's parents and have not forgotten him. Loyally he served.

first i wonna say im sorri for wats happened, ur son was 1 of kind. had sum good times with craig n also sum badtimes lol (exercise), craig was always there wen i needed sum1 2 talk 2 as he was in the bed space across from me. We had sum good times lyk ayai napa wen we both got that drunk n went and got them pierceings done lol. sure i got loads of pics sumwere il try n dig em out. wel even though i didnt wonna b in army ur son made everyday that little bit better and i told ya id b out 1 day warren wel il nevr forget u ya was a good friend.
